My name is Judy Johnstone and welcome to my blog. I work as a union official in a very male-dominated industry. Much of my work involves women, their salaries and working conditions. There are very clear agreements on these matters and I can usually resolve the disputes easily. One thing that I cannot resolve easily is the amount of sexual harassment women, and some men, must accept in order to keep their jobs. Pornographic images on office walls, suggestive texts and lewd comments are milder annoyances that face some of my clients. In fact, all of these workplace behaviours, plus more serious ones of course, are against the law under workplace health and safety rules.
